About the Opportunity

We are supporting a global aviation equipment and technology organisation in the appointment of a Senior Field Service & Commissioning Engineer to support complex technology deployments across its international customer network.

This is a highly autonomous, hands-on position combining field engineering, software configuration, IoT, electrical/electronic systems and technical troubleshooting.

You will act as a senior technical expert during complex customer deployments, travelling internationally to airport environments to resolve installation and configuration challenges, commission connected equipment and ensure successful system go-lives.

The position would suit an experienced Field Service, Commissioning or Technical Support Engineer who enjoys being close to the equipment, solving difficult technical problems and working directly with customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support complex technical installations and deployments in France and internationally.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues that cannot be resolved by local installation or project teams.
  • Commission connected equipment and support final go-live validation.
  • Configure software according to customer data, operational requirements, rules and integrations.
  • Diagnose technical issues across hardware, electronics, connectivity, networks and software.
  • Work hands-on with electrical/electronic systems, wiring, testing and connected equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Act as a senior technical escalation point for complex field issues.
  • Train customers, partners and internal teams on equipment and technology.
  • Develop technical procedures, checklists, documentation and best practices.
  • Provide feedback from customer sites to Product and R&D teams to support continuous product improvement.
  • Support site audits, proof-of-concept projects and technically complex pre-sales activities where required.

About You

We are looking for a technically strong, hands-on engineer who is comfortable taking ownership of challenging situations in customer-facing environments.

You should have:

  • Approximately 5–10 years' experience within a relevant technical field.
  • Strong installation, configuration and commissioning experience.
  • Experience working with IoT, electrical/electronic systems and networks.
  • Knowledge of software configuration, integrations and connected equipment.
  • Experience with embedded electronics integration.
  • The ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Strong practical troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities.
  • A hands-on approach and willingness to work directly with equipment, wiring and testing.
  • The ability to work autonomously and remain composed under pressure.
  • Strong customer-service and communication skills.
  • A background in field service engineering, field technical support, commissioning or a similar environment.

Previous airport or GSE experience would be advantageous; however, technical depth and a strong field-service mindset are the priority.

Languages & Travel

The position requires regular international travel, averaging approximately 10 days per month.

For French-speaking candidates, English is required. For English-speaking candidates, Spanish is required. Additional languages would be advantageous.

Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to join an international aviation organisation in a role offering significant technical autonomy and global exposure.

Rather than focusing solely on maintenance or repair, you will work across the complete technology environment — from physical equipment and electronics through to connectivity, IoT and software — while having a direct influence on how products and solutions are improved.
